Diodes PCN-2824 EOL: 207 Zetex Parts, Last Order 28 Oct 2026

Diodes Incorporated PCN-2824, issued on 28 April 2026, discontinues 207 part numbers, most of them legacy Zetex through-hole transistors and MOSFETs in the E-Line package (ZTX, ZVN, ZVP and VN10 families) plus a group of surface-mount FMMT, FZT, ZDT and ZXM parts. For 187 of them the last order date is 28 October 2026 and the last ship date is 28 April 2027, subject to availability. The other 20 have no lifetime buy at all.

If a ZTX851, ZTX1048A, ZVN3306A or FMMT411 sits on your bill of materials, you have four weeks left, as of 30 September 2026, to place a final order through the franchised channel. This post breaks the notice down by family, shows which of its four tables your part falls into, and walks through the substitutes that hold up and the ones that do not.

What PCN-2824 discontinues, family by family

PCN-2824 lists 207 ordering codes, and 113 of them are ZTX bipolar transistors in E-Line, Zetex's TO-92-compatible through-hole package. The source is the Diodes PCN-2824 notice (PDF), which classifies the change as "Discrete & Analog Semiconductor, End of Life" with an implementation date of 28 October 2026. We counted every code in its four tables:

FamilyWhat it isCodes on PCN-2824Example parts

Other (ZXT, ZX5T, FZT, FST, ZHB)Mixed bipolar and surface-mount parts16FZT957QTC, ZXTP2012A, ZHB6790TA

Fourteen of the codes carry the Q suffix that Diodes uses for automotive-grade parts, including ZDT1049QTA, FMMT411QTA, FZT600BQTA and ZXMS6001N3QTA. If you build for a Tier 1 customer, those lines matter most, because any replacement needs a new PPAP, which rarely fits inside the four weeks left in the window. Our AEC-Q100 vs AEC-Q101 guide covers what requalification involves.

Your table number decides your options

PCN-2824 sorts every part into one of four tables, and only Tables 2 and 4 offer a lifetime buy. Find your ordering code before doing anything else:

  • Table 1 (18 codes): no replacement, no lifetime buy. Examples are ZVN4210A, ZVN3306ASTZ, ZVP2110ASTZ and ZXMP10A13FTA-N. Diodes states that it may make these obsolete "without further notification", so the 28 October date does not protect you. Distributor stock on the shelf is all that remains.
  • Table 2 (181 codes): no replacement, lifetime buy open. This covers all 113 ZTX codes, all 12 ZDT duals and all ten FMMT parts. You can order until 28 October 2026. After that you have to redesign or rely on stock that already exists.
  • Table 3 (2 codes): replacement named, no lifetime buy. ZXM61N02FTC moves to DMN2053U-13, and ZXM61P03FTC moves to DMP3165L-13.
  • Table 4 (6 codes): replacement named, lifetime buy open. For example, ZXM61N02FTA moves to DMN2053U-7, ZXMN3A14FTA to DMN3061S-7, and ZXMP6A13GTA to DMP6250SEQ-7.

Match the full ordering code, not the base part number. Diodes' own ZTX450 datasheet shows how much the suffix decides. The loose-reel code ZTX450 is listed as Active, while ZTX450STZ, the 2,000-piece reel variant, is NRND and appears in PCN-2824 Table 2. Two buyers with "ZTX450" on their BOMs can therefore face opposite outcomes. Our part number suffix decoder explains how to read these endings.

There is a second trap. The notice's cover letter asks you to acknowledge receipt within 30 days, and if you raise no written objection within that time, the changes count as approved. That 30-day period ended on 28 May 2026, so the only lever left is the order date.

The equivalent-finder trap: your "alternates" are on the same notice

Online transistor cross-reference sites answer "ZTX851 equivalent" with ZTX1047A, ZTX1048A, ZTX1049A, ZTX1051A, ZTX1053A, ZTX1055A and ZTX1056A. Four of those seven (ZTX1048A, ZTX1049A, ZTX1051A and ZTX1053A) are also in PCN-2824 Table 2. A buyer who qualifies one of them in October is replacing one discontinued part with another that has the same last order date.

The same problem affects the Zetex SMD versions that engineers usually reach for next. As of 30 September 2026, the Diodes product pages for ZVN4206GV, ZVN4306GV (SOT-223) and ZVN3306F (SOT-23) all show NRND. None of them is in PCN-2824, but moving to them only swaps a dated EOL for an undated one. The whole vertical DMOS line is winding down, and our NRND explainer covers what that status usually leads to.

One more gotcha comes from a status check we ran for this post. The Diodes product pages for ZTX851 and ZVN4306A still say NRND, even though ZTX851 appears in PCN-2824 Table 2 and ZVN4306A's ammo-pack code ZVN4306ASTZ is also on the notice. The part page lags the notice, so a lifecycle check that only reads the web status shows "not recommended" when the real status is "last order in four weeks". Always open the PCN PDF itself. Our PCN and EOL guide covers the full reading routine.

Substitutes that hold up, checked against the datasheets

The substitutes that hold up are active Diodes parts in the same electrical class. They almost always change the footprint, so treat them as a PCB revision, not a drop-in swap. Here are two cases, checked against the manufacturer datasheets:

ZTX851 (E-Line) to FZT851 (SOT-223)

The FZT851 matches the ZTX851 on 60 V VCEO, 150 V VCBO and a 20 A peak pulse current. It raises continuous collector current from 5 A to 6 A, and its Diodes product page shows no NRND flag. It also offers an AEC-Q101 variant, FZT851QTA. The catch is thermal. The ZTX851 datasheet allows a junction temperature of up to 200 °C, while the FZT851 stops at 150 °C. The FZT851 only reaches its 3 W rating on a copper pad large enough to sink the heat. A circuit that relied on the E-Line part running hot in free air, such as an emergency-lighting driver on a compact board, needs a thermal recheck, not just a new footprint.

ZXM61N02FTA to DMN2053U-7 (both SOT-23)

This is the easiest move on the notice, because Diodes names the replacement in Table 4 and both parts use SOT-23 with a ±12 V gate rating. The DMN2053U is a newer 20 V trench part: 35 mΩ maximum at 4.5 V gate drive against the ZXM61N02F's 180 mΩ headline rating, and 6.5 A continuous at 25 °C against 1.7 A. Check the gate threshold: the DMN2053U datasheet gives 0.5 V minimum and 1.2 V maximum, so a gate line with ground noise or a slow pull-down resistor needs a margin check before approval.

Where the Zetex parts were small-signal switches, the modern Diodes DMN family is the natural home, but the package needs attention. GlobX holds 329,000 Diodes DMN2250UFB (Active, date code 22+, factory sealed). It is a 20 V N-channel MOSFET rated 0.17 Ω at 4.5 V and qualified to AEC-Q101. It comes in the tiny X1-DFN1006-3 package, however, not SOT-23, so it suits a board that is being redesigned anyway rather than a quick fix. For 60 V small-signal switching where a ZVN3306A-class part used to sit, 2N7002-class SOT-23 MOSFETs are the usual landing point. We stock the PANJIT 2N7002_R1_00001 with stock in Germany, but compare its current and on-resistance limits against the ZVN3306A's 270 mA and 5 Ω before you approve it. Our cross-reference checklist lists the seven checks that separate a true alternate from a lookalike.

A four-week plan before 28 October 2026

A lifetime buy on PCN-2824 has to be a non-cancellable order placed by 28 October 2026. That leaves this sequence:

  1. Week 1: match full ordering codes. Export every Diodes and Zetex line from the BOM with its full suffix (STZ, TA, TC, Q) and match it against the four tables. Flag Table 1 parts as urgent, because they have no lifetime buy.
  2. Week 1: size the quantity. Calculate remaining production years times annual usage, plus field-service spares and a scrap allowance. Our last time buy strategy walks through the arithmetic. On the datasheets we checked, STZ codes ship in 2,000-piece packs (ammo or reel), which sets your ordering multiple.
  3. Week 2: check shelf life. E-Line through-hole parts store better than moisture-sensitive SMD, but a 10-year buy still needs dry, sealed storage and a date-code policy. See our shelf life and date code guide.
  4. Week 2-3: open the redesign track at the same time. Qualify the Table 4 replacements now, while the old part is still on the shelf to compare against.
  5. Week 4: place the order and file the paperwork. Keep the PCN, the order confirmation and the manufacturer's certificate of conformance together. A customer audit years from now will ask for exactly these three documents.

JEDEC's J-STD-048 sets a baseline of at least six months between a discontinuance notice and the last order date. Diodes has met exactly that minimum, so do not expect an extension.

After 28 October: what buying these parts looks like

After the last order date, ZTX and ZVN parts come only from existing stock: distributor inventory, OEM surplus and brokers. That is where counterfeit risk rises. The E-Line body carries only a short part marking, which makes relabelled or remarked stock hard to spot by eye. Ask for the original Diodes or Zetex label, a date code, and a traceable chain back to the franchised channel. If only loose parts are offered, ask for decapsulation or at least X-ray and electrical testing. Our guide to sourcing obsolete electronic components sets out that inspection standard in detail.

If PCN-2824 has caught you with a Table 1 part and no stock, or a lifetime buy larger than your budget allows, send GlobX the ordering codes and quantities. We will say within 24 hours what traceable E-Line stock exists in Europe, and which active Diodes part is the closest fit if none does.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ZVN4206A discontinued?

As of 30 September 2026, Diodes lists the ZVN4206A as NRND, not obsolete, and the base code ZVN4206A does not appear in PCN-2824. Three variants do: ZVN4206ASTZ, ZVN4206AV and ZVN4206AVSTZ, all with a last order date of 28 October 2026. Check which exact code your approved vendor list names.

Is there a replacement for the ZVP2110A MOSFET?

PCN-2824 names none. ZVP2110ASTZ sits in Table 1, with no replacement and no lifetime buy, while the base code ZVP2110A is still listed as NRND. It is a 100 V, 8 ohm, 230 mA P-channel E-Line MOSFET, so start from any active 100 V P-channel part with equal or lower on-resistance and a 20 V gate rating.

What does lifetime buy mean on a Diodes PCN?

It is the final window to order a discontinued part from the manufacturer. On PCN-2824 it closes on 28 October 2026, with shipments until 28 April 2027 subject to availability, so Diodes may ship less than you ordered if material runs out. Distributors normally treat these orders as non-cancellable and non-returnable.

Where can I find Diodes Incorporated PCNs?

Diodes publishes each notice as a PDF on diodes.com under Quality, Product Change Notices, with file names such as Diodes_PCN_2824_EOL.pdf. Registering and pressing Notify me on a part page emails you future PCNs and datasheet changes for that part. Search your BOM codes against the PDF, not the product page status.

What is an E-Line transistor package?

E-Line is the three-lead through-hole package used across the Zetex discrete range, which Diodes datasheets describe as TO-92 compatible. Compatible refers to body and lead form, not a guaranteed pin order: the ZVN4306A datasheet shows D-S-G from the bottom view, so check the pinout before fitting any TO-92 substitute.
